How ordering custom printed packaging works

From your first message to repeat supply. You tell us about your food, we recommend what works, and you test a sample before anything goes into production.

Our process

The process, step by step

Understand, quote, sample, test, approve, produce, repeat. Here's what happens at each stage and what we'll ask you for.
  1. 01

    Tell us what you need

Tell us about your business, the food you serve and roughly how much packaging you use. If you already have packaging, show us what you use now. You don't need to know sizes, board weights or any technical terms.

    What you share
    • Your type of business and what you sell
    • The packaging you need, or the food it's for
    • Roughly how many you use a week or a month
    • Photos of your current packaging, if you have it
  2. 02

    We recommend the right packaging

We look at your food, how it's served and your budget, then recommend a size, strength and finish that will work. If something you've asked for isn't right for your food, we'll tell you why and suggest a better option.

    What you share
    • Any questions you have
    • Your target price, if you already know it
  3. 03

    Get your tailored quote

You receive a quotation based on your product, quantity, printing and delivery. There are no fixed price lists, because two burger boxes can need very different specifications.

    What you share
    • Feedback on the quote
    • Your artwork or logo, or a request for design help
  4. 04

See it. Test it. Approve it.

Once you're happy with the proposed packaging and the pricing direction, we prepare a sample. You put your own food in it, use it the way your team will, and approve it before anything goes into production.

    What you share
    • Your honest verdict after testing
    • Any changes to size, strength or design
  5. 05

    Production and delivery

After you approve the sample and the artwork, we produce and deliver your full order. Production and delivery typically take 30 to 35 days from approval. If you'd rather not keep it all at your premises, we can hold it in UK storage for you.

    What you share
    • Final approval of the sample and design
    • Where and how you'd like to receive it
  6. 06

    Repeat supply

We become your packaging supplier, not a one-off order. Reorders are simple, we learn how quickly you use each product, and you can add more packaging from the same place as your business grows.

    What you share
    • When you're running low
    • Any new products you'd like to add
Existing businesses

Already have packaging? Start with what you use now.

Switching supplier shouldn't mean starting from scratch. Show us your current packaging and we'll take it from there.
  • 01

    Your current packaging

Send photos of what you use now, or tell us about it. If it helps, you can also send us a physical sample.

  • 02

    Our assessment

We look at the size, strength, material and printing, and at how well it's working for you.

  • 03

    Our recommendation

An equivalent, or something better suited to your food and budget. Not automatically the most expensive option.

  • 04

    Your quote

A tailored quotation for the packaging we've recommended, so you can compare like with like.

Tell Us What You Use
Your sample

See it. Test it. Approve it.

Before full production, you get a sample of the packaging you've been quoted for. Test it with your own food, the way it will really be used. Nothing is produced until you approve it.

When you receive it

The sample comes after your quote, once you're happy with the proposed packaging and the pricing direction. That way you're testing the packaging you're actually going to order, not a generic example.

If something isn't right, tell us. We'd much rather change the size, strength or design now than have you live with the wrong packaging.

What to test

  • Put your biggest, heaviest and sauciest items inside
  • Check the fit: nothing sliding around, nothing squashed
  • Close it, stack it and carry it the way your drivers do
  • Leave food in it for your usual delivery time
  • Check for grease marks, soft spots or leaks
  • Check the print, colours and how the design sits on the folds
  • Ask your team if it's quick to fold, fill and close in a rush
Artwork and design

No artwork yet? We'll design it with you.

However far along your branding is, there's a route that works. You approve every design before anything is printed.
  • Send your artwork

If your design is ready, we check it fits the packaging properly: nothing lost on a fold, under a flap or in a seam.

  • Send your logo

We build the layout around your logo and brand colours for each piece of packaging.

  • Design it with us

Tell us your idea and we create the design with you. Design support is free.

UK storage

Your packaging. Our storage.

Order the volume you need without filling your premises with boxes and bags.
  1. Order the volume that suits you

Larger runs usually bring the cost per unit down. You don't need the space to store them.

  2. We keep it in UK storage

Your printed packaging is stored for you in the UK, not in your kitchen or stock room.

  3. Take what you need, when you need it

Call off stock as you run low. No back room full of boxes, and no waiting for a new production run.

For example, a burger shop can order a large run of printed burger boxes at a better price per box, keep them with us, and take a manageable quantity each time stock runs low. Storage is available on all of our products. Ask about it when you request your quote.

Repeat supply

Your first order is just the beginning.

We want to be your packaging supplier for the long run, not a one-off order.
  • 01

    First order

Sample approved, packaging produced, first order with you.

  • 02

    Settling in

We learn your volumes and how quickly you get through each product.

  • 03

    Regular supply

Orders planned around your usage, so you're not chasing stock or running out.

  • 04

    Growing together

Add bags, cups, papers or stickers as you need them, all printed to match and all from one supplier.

How we work

We don't just make what you ask for. We help you choose what works.

  • Plain English, no jargon. Technical detail only when it helps.
  • Recommendations based on your food, your service and your budget.
  • Honest advice, even when that means a cheaper option.
  • We'll tell you if something you've asked for won't work, and why.
  • Boxes, bags, papers, bowls, cups and stickers from one supplier.

How it works: your questions answered

What if I already have packaging?

Show us what you use now. Send photos or tell us about it, and if it helps you can send a physical sample. We'll assess it, recommend an equivalent or something better suited to your food, and quote for it.

What if I don't know the specification?

That's normal and completely fine. Tell us what you serve and how it's sold, and we'll work out the size, strength and material with you. You never need to know board weights or technical terms to get a quote.

What if I don't have artwork?

Send us your logo and we'll build the design around it, or tell us your idea and we'll create the design with you. Design support is free, and you approve every design before anything is printed.

Can I request a custom size?

Yes. Most of our packaging can be made in standard or custom sizes. Size is an option on each product, so tell us what your food needs and we'll recommend the right dimensions.

How does the quotation process work?

Tell us what you need through Work With Us, by phone or by email. We review your requirements, recommend the right packaging and send you a tailored quotation based on the product, quantity, printing and delivery.

Why don't you show prices on the website?

Price depends on the product, size, material, printing, quantity and delivery, so a single number on a website would rarely match what you actually need. Every customer gets a tailored quote. If you already have a price in mind, you can give us your target price.

When is the sample produced?

Once you've received your quote and you're happy with the proposed packaging and pricing direction. The sample is part of the ordering process, so it's made for the packaging you're actually considering.

What should I test when I get my sample?

Use it exactly as you would on a busy day. Put your heaviest and wettest food in it, check the fit, stack and carry it, leave food in it for your usual delivery time, and look closely at the print and how it folds.

What happens after I approve the sample?

We produce your full order to the approved specification and design. Production and delivery typically take 30 to 35 days. You can have it all with you, or keep some or all of it in our UK storage and take it as you need it.

How long does production and delivery take?

Typically 30 to 35 days from the moment you approve your sample and artwork. Before that comes your quote and sample, so if you have an opening date or a menu launch, get in touch early. For regular stock, UK storage means you can keep packaging ready so reorders don't wait for a new production run.

How do repeat orders work?

Get in touch when you need more and we'll arrange your next order to the same approved specification. As a new production run takes around 30 to 35 days, it's worth reordering before you run low, or keeping stock with us in UK storage. Over time we learn your usage, so reorders become simple.

How does storage work?

If you order a larger quantity than you have room for, we keep your packaging in UK storage and you take what you need as you run low. It lets you order in the volumes that make sense without filling your premises.

Is the sample a free sample service?

Samples are part of the ordering process rather than a general giveaway. We prepare one once we've understood your requirements and you're happy with the quote, so you can test the packaging you're actually going to order.
